For those wondering what the sea has to do with martial arts they are the same thing, they are always moving and always evolving and shaping themselves according to where they break

Everything deserves respect, regardless. But this does not mean bending to arrogance. Respect is not a concession; it is balance. You owe it first and foremost to yourself. Because those who cannot respect themselves end up accepting what hurts them. And you must not allow that. The respect you have for yourself protects you; it is your armor, your gentle armor in this complex world. Cubeddu G.Mario

Welcome to my world of martial arts. My name is Cubeddu G. Mario, and although I am not a master, martial arts have always been a part of my life. This blog was created to chronicle my journey, which will become yours as well, made up of practice, readings, stories, discoveries and encounters. I do not pretend to teach, I just want to share my passion. As a child I started with judo, a discipline that shaped my body and character. I experienced competition with enthusiasm, learning concentration, tenacity and that sense of respect that only the tatami can teach. Later I approached Wushu, particularly Chang Quan, an art rich in power and grace that I studied with two masters capable of conveying not only the technique but also the philosophy. During that time I also had the honor of meeting Master Dante Basili and becoming his student.Although for a short time, it did not take me long to realize that I had met a special person, capable of leaving a deep mark with his presence. I explored Wing Tsun with its gentle way of handling energy. I fell in love with Kali, fluid and incisive, donned the gloves to try my hand at boxing, then lost myself in the dynamism of Jeet Kune Do and rediscovered a sense of reality through Krav Maga. But my passion was not only expressed in the sweat of the gyms. As a teenager, I was looking for books everywhere,it was a discovery. This blog is for those who, like me, are hungry for knowledge. For those who understand magazines and ideas that could help me progress in my insatiable journey I collected the earliest texts on Wing Tsun, which were virtually unobtainable at the time, long before I started training seriously in this style. I read and reread as many of Bruce Lee's books as I could find. I breathed in his ideas. On my bookshelf there were and still are many books devoted to martial arts, including several books by Maurizio Maltese. I still remember the first book I found, the one about Shin Dae Woung and his style, Pakua, and many other works that opened new perspectives for me. Each book I read was like a visiting teacher, each magazine, each style there is knowledge and insight, and behind each technique there is a story. Here you will find reflections, stories, opinions, stories of the best masters and, why not, some martial arts trivia that will surprise you. Welcome to my virtual dojo. There are no belts to earn or ranks to achieve, only thoughts to share. Welcome to my martial world.
